Microsoft Store 22310 is here: it's faster and far more suitable for gamers

Microsoft Store version 22310 is now out to the world, and it has an improved UI, which is much faster, this version brings with it the ability to choose your installation path, effectively letting you manage your device’s storage.

Previously, the Microsoft Store would have a designated installation point that couldn’t be changed. However, that changed when Microsoft announced Store would let users choose an installation point in one of its regular patches to the Windows 11 Canary channel.

Since then, users waited for Microsoft Store to get the updates on the stable Windows 11, and now, the updates are finally here.

Of course, the natural question everyone is asking is: Is it worth using the Microsoft Store when you have the Xbox App?

The new Microsoft Store can become a competitor app to Xbox App, as now it allows greater control for those people to install their products.

This includes gamers who might want to use the updated Microsoft Store for that purpose, as noted by an engineer on Microsoft Store, who worked to bring 22310 to life.

New Microsoft Store update just dropped, v22310. Available for all users. You can now select which drive to install games like Starfield, Halo, and Minecraft. Worked great when I installed Sea of Stars, one of my GOTY.

Well, it could be, but the Xbox App is a specific platform for games and it has specific filters and categories, which a gamer would find very fitting. Microsoft Store, on the other hand, is an all-purpose platform, and you’ll find games, sure, among various other software, and apps.

But that doesn’t mean gamers shouldn’t try the new Microsoft Store. It’s faster now, and it has come a long way. It could be worth trying it. Plus, its AI capabilities are also one thing to take into consideration.
