Microsoft has released an update a mere week after a significant update on their traditional "Patch Tuesday." Microsoft has always been one to have updates released in a very systematic cycle, but today was a special case for the Surface Pro 3.
We are seeing a break from that in the last year or so. This faster update cycles gets updates to customers faster, and not only adds features faster, but gets rid of bugs faster. This update to the Surface Pro 3 only contains one item, from the update page: "Surface Pro UEFI (v184.108.40.206) adds features to display BIOS password state and asset tag information, as well as improving boot times in some scenarios."
A BIOS password is a level of security, without which the machine will not even boot up. Normal users will probably not notice changes to this, but potential faster boot times are always welcome.
Head over to Windows Update on your Surface Pro 3 to snag this update.
