Microsoft have today began talking about new improvements to the images within Word 2013. The blog post states that a whole load of new features have been implemented making image importing easy for touch, as well as improvements for mouse and keyboard hardware as well.

In Word 2013, you can now insert and place images in a Word document easy with the new Layout Options. “Our first step in simplifying the way you work with images was to add the Layout Options button. This button appears at the upper right of any image, video, shape, chart, SmartArt or textbox that you select and gives you quick access to the text wrapping options.” stated the blog.

Other improvements include Alignment Grids, which make it easy for you to see where your placing images and make it neat and tidy by lining up images with text. “As you move your image around the page and reach one of the alignment locations, you’ll see the green alignment guide lines appear. Here, you can see that the image is aligned to the top of the first paragraph and the left margin.”
