Microsoft’s Build 2016 conference is just around the corner, and we’re hoping to have an interesting event next week. Recently, Microsoft released the complete schedule of the sessions which will take place at the conference, and there are some interesting things the company has planned for the event.
One of the events which will take place at Build 2016 hints at some changes to Live Tiles, a popular feature in Windows 8 and the latest Windows 10 as well. The keynote titled “What’s New for Tiles and Toast Notifications” will be held on April 1st. The Live Tiles are expected to get “two highly-requested surprises” which may launch as new features app developers can take advantage of when creating their apps.
Here’s what the description of the event states,
Notifications are an essential tool for engaging with your customers on Windows. We are building on the foundation of Action Center to give developers greatly increased flexibility in Adaptive Toasts. We will introduce a powerful API that enables a new class of apps to plug into the Notification pipeline and provide innovative experiences for users. Live Tiles are evolving with two highly-requested surprises that you won’t want to miss.
There’s no other information about how the company plans to “evolve” the Live Tiles and what new surprises it will bring. But, there are quite a few possibilities, with the most notable one being the interactive Live Tiles, which offer users with an easier way to respond to notifications within the apps. They can turn out to be handy, but we’ll have to wait for a few more days to know more about the surprises the Redmond-based giant has planned for Windows 10 users.
