Microsoft updates Yammer for Windows Phone, Windows 8, Android and iOS Written by Mark Wilson on December 06, 2013 - 05:17AM
Microsoft has released a raft of updates for Yammer on a variety of platforms. All three major mobile platforms -- Windows Phone, Android and iOS -- have received app updates, as has the desktop Windows 8 edition. Whether you use the software on one device or many, this is an update that's well worth installing.
Yammer users with the app install on their Windows Phone handsets now have access to live tiles so message alerts are visible without the need to launch the app. Perhaps the most important update here is the addition of the Inbox, but there is also group searching that makes it easier to track down messages.
On the desktop, Windows 8 users also have a new notification and live tile option and there is also support for Group Feeds. So you can use Yammer at the same time as other modern or desktop apps, there is now support for Snap functionality.
iOS users have a fresher, more streamlined look to enjoy, and it is now easier to manage unread group messages. The Android version of the app gains support for Korean, Japanese, German and Spanish, and there has also be a design tweak to give the app a more Androidy look and feel.
