Microsoft: We’re still working on a fix for sleep issues with Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book

Microsoft has today provided an update about the ongoing problem with sleep and power management with the latest generation Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book hardware. Microsoft first admitted there was a problem with power management with the new hardware late last year, and promised a fix was on the way, but with a recent firmware update, that issue is still very much apparent.

In a comment posted on the Surface Support website, Microsoft says they are still very much at work on getting a fix out for Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book customers that will fix sleep and power management issues:

Yesterday our engineering team published some updates for Surface Book and Surface Pro 4. These updates offer refinements to improve battery charging and thermal tuning, wireless and Bluetooth performance, and to the detach-reattach experience on Surface Book. We know some of you are still experiencing issues, including issues related to power management, and we are working to address those as quickly as possible. We’ll publish additional updates as soon as they are ready.

Although reassuring to see Microsoft still working on a fix, it is slightly disappointing given the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book have been out on the market for a few months at this point. An issue like this should have been top priority for Microsoft, so the sooner we see a fix for this issue the better. Until then, are you someone suffering from the same sleep issues?
