Cortana

Cortana is best known as Microsoft’s personal digital assistant that runs on Windows 10, iOS, and Android. To the enterprise, however, Cortana is best thought of as just a part of an overarching suite of Microsoft’s “big data” solutions, Cortana Analytics Suite, that pulls together Azure, Power BI, SQL Server, and other Microsoft products.

Today and tomorrow, Microsoft is hosting developers, data scientists, and business decision makers in Redmond at their inaugural Cortana Analytics Workshop. The workshop is aimed at sharing Microsoft’s vision for data analytics and helping a selective group of the company’s enterprise customers build custom apps using the Cortana Analytics Suite.
Keynote speakers include:

  • Joseph Sirosh, Corporate Vice President of Information Management & Machine Learning at Microsoft, will talk about the Future of Advanced Analytics.
  • James Phillips, Corporate Vice President of Power BI at Microsoft, will talk about the Future of Data Visualization.
  • Raghu Ramakrishnan, Technical Fellow at Microsoft, will talk about the Future of Big Data.

Big data represents a strategic line of business for companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and IBM, and this workshop represents the first opportunity to get hands-on with Microsoft’s integrated solutions. Check out the complete agenda here.
