Microsoft's bashes the Chromebook in latest video, 'when you're not connected, it's pretty much a brick'

Microsoft has rolled out another controversial Scroogled video, this time bashing Google’s Chromebook laptop. In the video, which oddly resembles the show “Pawn Stars” in which people try to pawn off their valuables at a Las Vegas pawn shop. We are introduced to a fictional character who attempts to pawn her Chromebook.

The pawn shop owner laughs at the woman when she tries to pawn off her Google Chromebook for a ticket to Hollywood. “When you’re not connected, it’s pretty much a brick,” the pawn shop owner tells the woman. This owner also adds that the Chromebook isn’t a real laptop.

“You see this thingy?” the owner asks the woman while pointing to the Google Chrome logo on the Chrome book. “That means its not a real laptop. It doesn’t have Windows or Office. Without WiFi, it doesn’t do much at all. And when you are online, Google tracks what you do so they can sell ads,” the owner adds.

The shop owner even adds that the Chromebook’s purpose is to make it easier for Google to make money off your personal information. Ouch.

“Watch Rick and the Old Man from Gold & Silver Pawn Shop break down the Google Chromebook. Visit Scroogled.com to learn why a Windows laptop is a better value,” the video description reads. We’ve embedded the video below for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!
