Native Start Screen folders coming in Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1Written by Zac Bowden on June 29, 2014 - 09:38AM @sM4llziE
Like Windows 8.1, Microsoft is planning to release an update for Windows Phone 8.1 which will further improve the operating system after initial release. Windows 8.1 Update 1 was launched earlier this year, with an Update 2 rumored to be coming in August. Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 will be just like Update 1 for Windows 8.1, which will improve the operating system.
According to Nokia Power User, a help page at WindowsPhone.com explains the steps in creating folders on the Start Screen. The process is pretty simple, and works much like other platforms. Drag a tile over another tile and have it drop into a folder which you can name and drag around. This will make the Start Screen easier to clean up for users who hate having apps scattered everywhere.
The help page also cites Windows Phone 8.1 Update, which we assume will be the equivalent of Update 1 for Windows 8.1. We don't know much else about Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1, other than the rumored possibility of a new 3D UI for hardware which supports it.
Until then however, we can only speculate. What do you want to see in Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1? Leave us your ideas below!
