Need an incentive to drop XP and get a new PC? Microsoft has a deal for youWritten by Mark Wilson on March 14, 2014 - 04:57AM @MarkWilsonWords
There's a lot to think about when finally giving in a making the move away from Windows XP. You can't fail to have noticed that support for the now ancient operating system is coming to an end in less than a month, and Microsoft is eager for people to make the switch to Windows 8. For many people running XP on older hardware, this is going to mean investing in a new computer, but Microsoft has an offer to help sweeten the deal.
Make your selection from one of sixteen new computers -- and there's something for everyone here; tablets, laptops, all-in-ones and convertibles -- and you can not only benefit from everything Windows 8 has to offer, but also a few extra bonuses.
Many of the PCs in the list have been discounted in price. The HP ENVY Rove 20-k121us Touchsmart All-in-One, for instance, has been slashed by $300. But there's more on offer. Buy one of the systems before 30 April and you'll also receive a $50 gift card which can be spent on software or accessory in the Microsoft Store.
Buyers will also get 90 days of premium support as well as help transferring data from the old PC to the new one. This help comes courtesy of a free copy of LapLink's PCmover Express which will get users up and running on their new system, complete with their old files, as quickly as possible.
Hit the Microsoft Store link below to take a browse through the selection and see if anything takes your fancy.
