A new rumor coming from anonymous sources at WPDang has today claimed that the next firmware update for Nokia Lumia devices will launch with the name "Lumia Denim" and will be released first for the Lumia 930, 1520 and Icon before being released for devices like the Lumia 830 and others.
Nokia is about to announce a few new devices at its IFA2014 event, meaning we'll probably officially here about "Lumia Denim" soon. Until then however, these rumors claim that Lumia Denim is the firmware update which will ship with the official rollout of Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1, much like Cyan did with Windows Phone 8.1 and Amber did with Windows Phone 8 GDR3.
As of right now, we're not entirely sure what will be included in the Lumia Denim firmware update. We doubt we'll see any major feature enhancements, and the firmware will most likely be under-the-hood optimizations to make sure Lumia devices run Update 1 with ease. Either way, I don't think we're very far away from an official announcment, so stick around here at WinBeta for all the breaking news coming from Nokia, Microsoft and the IFA2014 announcement.
