Nokia has revealed its Q2 earnings report and lots of good news has come out of it. First of all, Nokia has hit a sales record of 7.4 million in just Q2. Secondly, Nokia has sold 27.3 million Windows Phone powered Lumia devices since November 2011.
As The Verge puts it, Nokia has “sold more Windows Phones last quarter than BlackBerry sold phones.” As of June 30th, Nokia has sold 27.3 million Lumia devices since launching the first Windows Phone device in November of 2011. For those of you who remember, the first Nokia Windows Phone device was the Lumia 800.
Nokia has shown improvement with its Q2 earning results. With 7.4 million during Q2, compared to 5.6 the previous quarter and 4 million in the same quarter the previous year, Nokia has been doing pretty good. However, the company still suffered a $151 million operating loss.
Nokia has to attribute its growing success to Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform too. In a recent interview, Microsoft stated that they were “solidly the third ecosystem” when it comes to the mobile market. Microsoft even added that Windows Phone is “growing faster than anyone else right now.”
