Earlier this month, the Nokia Lumia 520, Nokia Lumia 720, and the Nokia Lumia 620 snagged the Lumia Cyan update. Today, the Lumia 820 and the Lumia 525 also have become ready to receive the said update. Incidentally, with today’s rollout, all the Windows Phone 8-powered Lumia devices have embraced the Lumia Cyan update and are eligible to get the latest stable operating system from Microsoft.
The Lumia Cyan update, if you remember, brings along Windows Phone 8.1 operating system and several Lumia exclusive features. While Windows Phone 8.1 will get you the voice assistant service Cortana, coupled with Word Flow keyboard, Action Center and a plethora of features and fixes, the Lumia exclusive features will get you the updated version of several Nokia apps, alongside fixes and improvements.
It needs to be pointed out that those who have Windows Phone 8.1 developer preview (or Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 developer preview) won’t be able to snag the Lumia Cyan update just yet. But Microsoft has assured that it is working on a special release shortly. Alternatively, you can always downgrade your operating system to Windows Phone 8 to grab the Lumia Cyan update.
Other than India, places where the Lumia Cyan is available to all the Windows Phone 8-powered devices are: Indonesia, Nepal, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Bangladesh, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen.
