Nokia Lumia Icon has seen its fair share of rumors, but those might end soon. Yesterday, Nokia posted a teaser video of a new Windows Phone device, which might be the Icon headed for Verizon. Well, the rumors won't stop here, not until Nokia officially unveils the handset, but it seems the day might be near. The latest rumor pegs the availability date to be February 20th, as per the folks at WP Central who managed to get a leaked in-store inventory list.
It's not the first time we've witnessed a launch date for the Lumia Icon, several release dates popped up, but it turned out all of them were incorrect. But, this time, February 20th could be the lucky day for the handset to see the light of the day. The leaked inventory listing shows the availability date for a bunch of accessories for the Lumia Icon which lists Feb. 20th, as that's the day (Thursday) that Big Red usually launches new products.
Additionally, it also mentioned the Microsoft Store will begin pre-orders of the Nokia Lumia Icon starting from February 12th with a minimal deposit of $50. Let's see how much truth lies in this report now as, if it's correct, we should see an official announcement from Verizon or Nokia next week.
For those who don't know about the Nokia Lumia Icon (seriously?), it's a trimmed down version of the flagship phablet from Nokia, and brings a similar set of specifications in a smaller form factor. The handset has inadvertently appeared multiple times on Verizon's website, and was leaked in the form of photos and videos many times in the past few months. Here's what we can expect from Nokia Lumia Icon:
- 5-inch 1080p display
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC
- 2GB RAM
- 32GB Storage
- 20MP PureView Camera
- 1.2MP front-facing camera
- Windows Phone 8 Lumia Black
- 2,420 mAh battery
Let's hope it's correct this time. We'll update if you if it happens next week. Stay tuned.
