Nokia rumored to unveil 6-inch Lumia 1520 during October 22nd press eventBy Ron on Tuesday, Sep 17th, 2013 at 09:51AM
Recently, we learned that Nokia was planning on holding an event in Now York City later this month and at this event we would finally see the 6-inch 1080p Nokia Lumia 1520 handset unveiled. Unfortunately, that event has been delayed according to a new report over at Reuters, possibly thanks to the Microsoft-Nokia deal, but there is still hope!
"One of the sources said the launch event, originally scheduled to take place in New York late this month, has been pushed back by several weeks. Reuters could not confirm a new date, and a Nokia spokesman declined to comment," Reuters stated in a report. Reuters offered no further details or explanation on why this event was delayed, but simply stated that Microsoft's acquisition of Nokia could have been the reason.
Nokia, on the other hand, has taken it to Twitter to unveil a new image that states, "Save the date: 22 October 2013." This corresponds to recent rumors that suggested Nokia will launch the Lumia 1520 in mid-October.
The Nokia Lumia 1520 will be the first device that supports a 1080p resolution on Windows Phone. The device reportedly sports 2GB of RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip, 6 inch 1080p display, 32GB of storage, and an SD slot. We learned recently that the Lumia 1520 would be available on AT&T in early November for an off-contract price of $699.
