Nokia X gets a price cut in India, plenty of retailers offering enticing deals tooWritten by Manish Singh on April 15, 2014 - 08:20AM @refsrc
After nearly one month of its launch, the Nokia X handset has received its first official price drop in India. Initially launched at Rs 8,599, Nokia’s first ever Android handset can now be purchased at a price of Rs 7,729. Interestingly, you can buy it for an even cheaper price from Amazon and Flipkart.
Nokia X is the company’s first phone to run Android. However, the Android version it is running won’t strike as normal to you. Based on Android Open Source Project (AOSP), Nokia X, or any of handset in its X line of smartphones, doesn’t have Google Mobile Services such as Gmail, Google Maps, Play Store or Play Books. Instead, the company facilitates its own services with a couple of products from Microsoft.
While the price cut looks quite good, you can find better deals at many online retailers. For instance, Flipkart is selling the phone for Rs 7,083. In addition, you can use Flipkart’s recently launched Windows Phone app and get an additional Rs 100 discount. Another retailer Snapdeal is selling the phone for Rs 7,012.
