Nokia XL could finally arrive in India this weekWritten by Manish Singh on April 30, 2014 - 05:54AM @refsrc
Nokia is all set to launch the Nokia XL handset in India. The company has started sending out invites for its events at Delhi and Mumbai to be held on May 1st and May 3rd respectively. From our sources, we have received confirmation that the company is planning to showcase the device to select people, and launch the handset in coming weeks.
Announced in February at the Mobile World Congress, Nokia XL is part of X family that runs Android. While Nokia X, the first Android smartphone from the Finnish giant, was launched on the announcement day itself, Nokia X+ and XL, the other two handsets in the lineup, were to be launched in the second quarter of 2014.
Among the X lineup, Nokia XL is the high-end Android smartphone. It sports a 5-inch IPS LCD display of a rather unimpressive resolution of 480 x 800. Powered by a 1GHz Dual-core Snapdragon S4 Play processor and coupled with 768MB of RAM, the phone has 4 gigs of internal phone memory, though you can expand it up to 32GB via microSD card. It has a 2MP on the front, and the 5MP shooter at the back is good. The 2000 mAh battery is not bad either. On the connectivity front, the phone supports WiFi, 3G, and Bluetooth.
Interestingly there is no mention of the Nokia X+ handset anywhere. The press invite reads, ‘Fastlane to your Android Apps’ along with #GoNokiaXL.
