After getting a casual mention on Twitter the other day, the November 12th launch of the new Windows 10-based Xbox One operating system has now been given a proper announcement by Microsoft along with the reveal of November’s Games with Gold, i.e. the free games Xbox gamers are given if they’re members of the paid Gold subscription service.
As usual, there are two Xbox One games and two Xbox 360 games but with the arrival of Xbox 360 backwards compatibility coming to Xbox One with the new operating system redesign, these two Xbox 360 games, as well as all of the Xbox 360 Games with Gold games given out over the past few months, will be completely playable on the current gen system from the 12th onwards.

The two Xbox One titles being given away in November are the adventure/puzzle game, Pneuma: Breath of Life and the multiplayer action game, Knight Squad. Pneuma: Breath of Life will be available to claim for the entire month of November while Knight Squad will be running from the 16th of November to the 15th of December. Both titles are fairly small games that usually sell for US$19.99 and US$14.99 respectively but they’re also new titles to the Xbox One and each offers a different experience than the other.

The November Games with Gold Xbox 360 games which will be playable on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles from the 12th of November are the racing game, DiRT 3, from the 1st to the 15th of November, and the action-roleplaying game, Dungeon Siege III, from the 16th to the 30th of November.

The October Games with Gold games included Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes for Xbox 360, the critically acclaimed Valiant Hearts: The Great War for Xbox One and the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of the immensely popular Telltale Game’s The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season, which is currently still available.
Games with Gold Xbox One games can be claimed either on the Xbox One SmartGlass app or on the console itself while both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One games can be grabbed on the Xbox.com website after logging in.
