Build 16.0.6568.2036 of Office 2016 has been released, if you are a part of the Office 2016 Insider Program. This update brings with it a few fixes to significant issues regarding POP3 on Outlook. The update is specifically meant to address two pretty significant issues with Outlook, both of which wreak havoc on your inbox pretty significantly.

Here’s the changelog for this particular update:

  • After Outlook downloads email, all email messages on the server are deleted from the Inbox.
  • Email messages are downloaded multiple times from Outlook, causing duplicate items.

If you want to pick up the update, you can navigate to it by clicking File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.

Build 16.0.6568.2036 doesn’t do all that much beyond fix these issues, but it’s still worth picking up if you frequent Outlook. These are both pretty nasty issues, and it’s better to download a small update to prevent them than to risk dealing with your email running amok. The process is quick, simple, and should get you back browsing through your emails worry-free in no time.
