OneDrive for iOS received another update, this time adding the ability to create Office Mobile documents, along with some bug fixes. Since OneDrive’s last update for iOS a little more than a two weeks ago, it appears as though more Microsoft iOS apps are getting OneDrive support, including the recent update to Acrobat Reader for iOS.

According to iTunes, OneDrive for iOS is now up to version 7.8, and here is the official list of updates and fixes:

  • You can now instantly create Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files from the app.
  • Plenty of bug fixes and minor tweaks.

The added functionality of being able to create Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files is certainly a welcome addition for iOS users. Although not quite as handy as a full-fledged Office app on Windows 10, if you use your iPhone to view and do quick edits of Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files, this new Office Mobile functionality will be an added convenience for you.
