OneDrive will be integrated with Windows 10 rather than as an app

With Windows 8, Microsoft offered apps to take care of important functions for the operating system. OneDrive is one example, which is not integrated into Windows and is available as a separate app since it’s much easier to upgrade. Over the weekend, a user on Twitter asked Microsoft Insider guru Gabriel Aul why OneDrive isn’t available as a universal app. Aul’s answer to the question was quite simple, “OneDrive is being integrated directly into Windows [10] rather than as an app.”

At the moment, we don’t know how the company plans to pull this off or how it will work, but it will be useful for regular OneDrive users for sure. Windows 10 is expected to see the light of the day later this year, and we’re hoping to hear more about the operating system and the features it will offer in the coming weeks, possibly at Microsoft’s Build conference in May.
