Phil Spencer: Xbox One isn't getting the in-game screenshot feature until 2015

Earlier this month, one of Microsoft’s top executives announced that the Xbox One gaming console will soon get the ability to take in-game screenshots. By soon, what Microsoft really meant was 2015. In an interview with gaming site IGN, Xbox Chief Phil Spencer said that Microsoft won’t be rolling out this feature until 2015.

That’s pretty upsetting, we understand. But apparently the Xbox team is struggling to get the feature work on their gaming console.

“We can do video, how hard can it be to just grab a frame of the video?” he joked. “It’s a little more technically challenging than I thought. Two weeks ago, they think they’ve found a good solution for screenshots. They’re working on it. They know people want it. The team has a path to getting it done, and now it’s just prioritizing.”

However, Spencer insisted that the company has tagged the issue as top priority and is working on getting the feature pushed to the gaming console as soon as they can. However, they don’t expect to achieve it this year.
