Super Hot on Xbox One

Super Hot makes its way to the Xbox One today and offers something different with its stylized graphics engine and minimalist look. Here’s the official description:

Blurring the lines between cautious strategy and unbridled mayhem, SUPERHOT is the FPS in which time moves only when you move. No regenerating health bars. No conveniently placed ammo drops. It’s just you, outnumbered and outgunned, grabbing the weapons of fallen enemies to shoot, slice, and maneuver through a hurricane of slow-motion bullets.

Super Hot apparently took over 30 months to develop and is the result of a successful Kickstarter campaign which was used to raise funds for its creation and garnered thousands of supporters. The game features an Endless Mode where the player is continuously attacked by enemies until defeated, a Challenge Mode with timed runs and no restart options, a Replay Director for sharing gameplay, and a variety of extras including art galleries, mini games and more.

Also out this week on Xbox One is Paranautical Activity, which has a rather controversial history in the games industry. Here’s its full description:

Paranautical Activity combines the classic FPS action of games like Doom and Quake, with the randomness and difficulty of modern roguelikes like Binding of Isaac and Spelunky. Features procedurally generated levels, impossibly fast gameplay, hidden levels, over 100 items, 40+ enemies, ridiculous bosses‏ and a kick ass Dubstep soundtrack.

The game has been taken over by a new game development studio and has been remastered to include improved graphics, better gameplay and a host of other features such as developer footage and commentary, a pro gamer guide, plus exclusive in-game items and weapons.
