Professional-grade Skype TX for business and media industries released to manufacturers

Earlier this year Microsoft announced Skype TX, a professional-grade version of the app developed for the business and media industry. Among several features, Skype TX was said to deliver high quality audio and video around the world. Today, Microsoft has released Skype TX to manufacturers (RTM) and will be demonstrating it at IBC in Amsterdam.

Microsoft describes Skype TX as an “easy-to-use hardware and software combination that allows Skype video calls from anywhere in the world to be seamlessly integrated into any production.” The company has also announced three new hardware partners for this project: NewTek, Quicklink, and Riedel.

Skype is already widely used in the production of podcasts and newscasts. With Skype TX, users will get ads and notifications free service. Skype TX also supports HD-SDI, the broadcast standard making it favorable to produce studio environment content.

Additionally, the feature also automatically adjusts the aspect ratio, and is able to handle multiple Skype calls simultaneously.
