Quiet Hours app for Windows Phone 8 silences your handset so you aren't disturbed Written by Hammad Saleem on January 13, 2014, 09:02AM
It's extremely annoying when your phone suddenly rings in the middle of the night, whether it's due to a call or a text message. Quiet Hours is one such application for Windows Phone 8 handsets that give users the ability to silence the phone during specific hours, or should I say, activates the Do Not Disturb mode.
The application comes with Live tiles support, allowing users to manually toggle the silent mode using the Quiet Hours application. However, due to Windows Phone OS limitation, the background task can run only once per every 30 minutes. Additionally, you can schedule the hours in which you want the phone to be silent, so that you don't have to do it manually every time you're in bed or doing any other important task. Unfortunately, the scheduler comes with the full version of the application which can be unlocked via in-app purchase.
"Quite Hours (a.k.a. Do Not Disturb) now on Windows Phone! Using it you can schedule when you want to turn silent mode on or off. Do it manually in application. Or use toggle tile on main screen and turn mode by single click," the app description reads.
It's an excellent application, but there should be some features that should be a part of the application such as a filter list. Once enabled, contacts in the filters list should be able to pass through the quiet hours, even with the silent mode activated.
Simply head over to the Windows Phone Store using the link given below and download the application. If you're using the application, feel free to share your thoughts using the comments below.
