Release date for GTA V on PC slips to March 24th 2015

GTA V

Grand Theft Auto as a series has not always had the best relationship with the PC. With Rockstar maintaining a decidedly console-based approach to design and development, fans have had to struggle on occasion to bring its attention to the PC scene.

After much speculation, GTA V for the PC is on the way, and has been for some time. Unfortunately, this wait is set to continue, following an announcement from Rockstar that development is taking slightly longer than planned, stating:

“Our apologies for the slight shift in the date but the game requires a few extra weeks of testing and polish to make it as good as can be. Moving a release date is never a decision we take lightly and is a choice we make only when we know it is in the best interests of the game and our fans. Thanks everyone for your understanding and we assure you these few extra weeks will be worth it when the game does arrive in March.”

Previously due to be released on January 27 2015, this slip was not unexpected. Rockstar is notorious for pushing back releases until they meet rigorous internal quality standards, however this means that the end result is always worth the wait.
