On Tuesday, May 20th, Microsoft will hold a special press event in New York City where the company is expected to finally unveil the highly anticipated and talked-about Surface Mini. The event will also be broadcasted live and WinBeta will be on hand providing you with the latest coverage.
A new rumor is suggesting that Microsoft may even unveil a 12-inch Surface Pro 3, along with the Surface Mini. “There are strong indications that there is a 12-inch product coming down the pipeline,” Rhoda Alexander, who directs IHS Technology’s monitor and tablet research, told CNET today. She was referring to Microsoft’s Surface tablet.
Although when asked if it is possible that this larger screened Surface Pro device would launch alongside the Surface Mini on May 20th, Alexander stated that a “limited US launch is feasible” on that date, but it is not certain. Currently, the Surface Pro 2 and Surface 2 devices have a 10.6-inch screen. Alexander also expects the Surface Mini to have a 7.5-inch display.
Obviously a larger screen would appeal to business customers who prefer a bigger display. Thankfully, a slight increase in screen size with the Surface Pro 3 would be ideal, while still keeping its small form factor.
