Samsung is ready to set its footprints in the Windows Phone arena. Recently, the company launched the Samsung Ativ SE powered by Windows Phone and up for pre-orders on Verizon, but it seems the Korean OEM is working on more Windows Phone powered handsets as well.

The folks at SamMobile reports the Samsung is working on its first Windows Phone 8.1 powered handset, targeted towards the mid-range market. The handset is rumored to come with a 4.5-inch display sporting a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels with 1GB of RAM and a 2,100 mAh battery. On the rear, the alleged handset will feature either a 13 or 8 megapixel camera.

There’s no word about the launch of the purported handset, but it should hit retail during the same time frame as the Lumia 630 and 635. Samsung is yet to officially announce the handset, but it seems we will finally see some competition in the Windows Phone arena. Will you go for a Samsung Windows Phone 8.1 powered handset?
