Skype for Windows 8 and Mac to sport a revamped user interface soonWritten by Manish Singh on May 22, 2014 - 11:23AM @refsrc
Popular instant messaging and VoIP service Skype is all set to revamp its user interface. The cross-platform application will soon revamp its look on its Windows client. This will soon be followed by the Mac client and eventually every other platform.
Skype for Windows 8 (among other operating systems) has added several new features, including the ability to add contacts from the ‘people’ page and the ability to turn off audio notifications. However, the user interface of the client has remained pretty much the same since the beginning.
On the blog, the Skype team has stated that it will soon refresh the UI - which it has been testing on a small number of users for a while. The new clean and modern look will enhance the overall experience across all clients.
The feature will then soon roll out to Mac users, and hopefully will have its footprints set across other platforms as well. As of now, we don’t know when the client will be available on Windows 8, however we expect it to arrive shortly.
