Music streaming service Spotify has got a massive update today. In addition to the new features (which we’ll talk about in a bit), the update makes its Windows Phone client free to all the users. Until now the Spotify’ Windows Phone app required users to have a subscription to a premium account to be able to listen to the music. But now they will also be able to stream playlists and music in shuffle mode.
These are the new features you can expect in the updated version of Spotify.
- All of the music. Listen to all the playlists you’ve created and playlists from the people you follow. Spotify lets you discover new music, save, shuffle and share.
- Your favorite artists. Want to listen to a certain artist? Just hit shuffle play, sit back and listen to their entire catalog. Don’t settle for something similar. Don’t settle for just one track from the artist you want to hear every 20 minutes.
- Want the right playlist? Just Browse. Going for a jog or to the gym? We’ve got the playlist to help you go the extra mile. Hosting a dinner or getting ready for a big night out? We’ve got you covered. We even have playlists for different moods, so regardless of whether you need an upbeat boost or something more relaxing to wind down to – we’ve got just the thing.
In addition, the search results have received some improvements as well, making it easier to browse and discover related artists. The streaming is now ad-supported, but users can still choose to subscribe to Premium plans to avoid ads and sync playlists offline.
The updated version will become available on the Windows Phone Store shortly. You can check for the update from the download link below.
