State of Decay developer Undead Labs signs multi-year and multi-title agreement with Microsoft Written by Ron on January 12, 2014 - 11:17AM
State of Decay, for those who did not know, is a third-person open-world zombie game that was released on Xbox Live back in June of 2013. The game sold 500,000 copies in just two weeks making it the "fastest selling original game" on the Xbox Live Arcade. Eventually, the game reached 1 million copies sold on both Xbox and PC platforms.
The developer behind State of Decay, Undead Labs, has signed a multi-title and multi-year agreement with Microsoft Studios. "I wanted to let you know we’ve signed an agreement to extend our development relationship with Microsoft Studios. We’ll be able to share details later this year, but as with State of Decay, we think it’s best if we just keep our heads down and build some prototypes before we talk too much. For now, suffice it to say there are big things going on with State of Decay," the developer stated in an official blog post.
This pretty much means we may see State of Decay on the Xbox One, or perhaps even a sequel to the game. Currently, the State of Decay is a fantastic open world zombie survival game that could use some work in the graphics department. Either way, we are excited to see what Undead Labs has in store with this new agreement.
