State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition coming to Xbox One on April 28th

For all the State of Decay fans out there, Microsoft and Undead Labs have announced State of Decay Year One Survival Edition which will be available for Xbox One users on April 28th, carrying a $29.99 price tag. For those of you who are unaware of the game, it takes you to the world overrun by zombies and your task is to make sure you’re not a part of their feast. You can build your own base, manage resources, and just make sure you can survive.

In Year-One Survival Edition, you get the Breakdown and Lifeline expansions, which also includes a different location with you playing a military unit Greyhound One. Furthermore, State of Decay upgrade for Xbox One brings all the action in 1080p goodness, along with improved textures, lighting and shadows as well as improved animations and interface to help the players manage items, equip weapons, and make quick decision in case they are attacked by a horde of deadly zombies. Last but not the least, you also get a sharp knife to cut the zombies into pieces in case you melee weapon is destroyed — this sounds good.

State of Decay puts you in the center of a zombie apocalypse in Trumbull Valley. With an ever-growing band of survivors under your control, you have to figure out a way to stay alive long enough to escape. In Year-One Survival Edition, along with the base game, you get both DLCs: A more open-ended, “how long can you survive” experience (Breakdown), and a more structured experience (Lifeline) that includes a different location (Danforth) and you playing as a military unit, Greyhound One.

If you’re already a proud owner of State of Decay on the Xbox 360, Microsoft and Undead Labs are offering a sweet deal. Existing players get a 33 percent discount on purchase of the Year One Survival Edition when it hits Xbox One later this year — this should brings its price down to around $20. It doesn’t end there, returning players also get to play with a new exclusive character Gurubani, an Indian-American character wielding a sword.
