If you happen to be a user of Status Tiles, Viber and MetroMail, it's time to fire up the Windows Phone Store as there are some updates waiting for you. All these apps were updated with bug fixes and enhancements to improve their overall experience.
Let's start with the Status Tiles. The app give users the ability to add connectivity settings on the start screen, allowing users to toggle on/off WiFi, Bluetooth, orientation lock and network. Recently, Status Tiles was bumped to v2.1.1, and introduces a bunch of new feature and performance improvements. The latest update adds an option to pin a battery tile as well as minor UI changes. Here's a list of all the changes introduced in the latest version:
- Added a Battery Tile.
- Added a background agent to periodically update all the pinned tiles.
- Minor UI Changes.
- Performance and robustness improvements.
Next in line is the MetroMail app, a third-party email client that helps you make the most out of Gmail on your Windows Phone handset. "It's time to finally get a first-class Gmail experience on Windows Phone! The first Gmail app written and designed from the ground up specifically for Windows Phone, is now here," the app description reads.
The app was updated to 1.4.1 and fixed a few bugs, including issues related to editing existing signatures that were being used on Gmail, as well as other SkyDrive-related problems. The update doesn't bring anything new, but it's better to fix the issues first in my opinion then to introduce new features.
Last but not the least, Viber, a cross-platform instant messaging app, also received an update. There's no changelog available, so it seems it's a minor update with a few bug fixes and improvements.
Head over to the Windows Phone Store to snag the apps. Viber and Status Tiles are free, but for MetroMail, you have to shell out $1.49.
