The gaming client Steam for PC platform will soon allow users to hide their games. This feature is included in a new update which also brings general changes to the interface - changing the color combination, alongside simplification of common controls.
The service has over 75 million users. The new feature will finally let many of them keep their guilty pleasures a secret. The games that have been hidden can be accessed from the “Set Categories” menu. However, the game titles will still be visible on your profile, according to the official notes posted on the website. So the only place where the title won’t appear is library filters.
"Add 'Hide this game in my library' functionality, accessible from the Set Categories menu. Games that are hidden will not show up in library filters except for a new filter called 'Hidden,' which will only appear once at least one game is marked as hidden. Hidden games are still available for play and will still appear on the user's profile," as described on the website.
Besides that, the update also squashes several bugs and fixes crash issues. It should be noted that EA’s Origin platform for PC already lets users hide their games. Do you find this new inclusion handy? Sound off in the comments below!
