Surface Pro 3 firmware update addresses enterprise needs

In the world of updates for Windows, typically there is Patch Tuesday, and that’s about it. Cumulative updates, a large amount of security patches, and prolonged fixes are all roll out in one big update. Depending on the number of repairs, some people set aside the time for multiple refreshes and the seemingly never-ending “we’re almost done” splash screen.

Today, some Surface Pro 3 users found themselves scratching their heads at a firmware update listed for download on their system. Microsoft threw caution to the wind and released a second firmware update targeting Surface Pro 3 devices. The update doesn’t take very long to install and is intended to address business and enterprise needs. The firmware supports enterprise encryption and enhances configuration for device security.
