Microsoft has revealed that the Surface RT and Surface Pro will be available in more countries beginning this late March, as part of the company’s phased approach to releasing the product worldwide.

“The worldwide customer response to both Surface RT with Windows RT and Surface Pro with Windows 8 Pro has been exciting to see. Today, we are pleased to announce that, beginning in late March, we will continue our phased approach to the expansion of the Surface family of PCs into new markets,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post. The Surface RT will be available in new countries such as Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore and Taiwan, in addition to the current markets of Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. The Surface Pro will be available in Australia, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, New Zealand and the United Kingdom in the coming months. Microsoft is also “working super hard” to get more devices to retail outlets and understands that demand for the device exists outside the United States. Microsoft will provide more details as the time approaches.
