There is an ongoing battle between Microsoft and Google, and it involves the business world. Office 365 is in competition with Google Apps in a battle for the office space and, for the most part, Microsoft seems to be coming out on top, though Google has had its share of victories.
Today the Redmond company announces its latest victory, the company Tastea is moving its franchise over to the Office 365 platform. If you aren’t familiar, Tastea aims to blend tea with juices to offer consumers the best choice.
“When we started the company, my business partner and I already knew that we wanted to scale it out. We worked to create systems (recipes, store procedures, etc.) and looked for technologies that could help us give customers the same experience across all our stores. We didn’t want to grow too fast without the infrastructure to support our success,” says founder Ted Vu, in explaining the decision to use Office 365.
And that was not the only announcement out of Microsoft today. Yammer announced the expansion of its language support. The service now supports 28 languages, including Arabic; Chinese Simplified; Chinese Traditional; Czech; Danish; Dutch; English (US); Finnish; French; German; Greek; Hebrew; Hungarian; Indonesian; Italian; Japanese; Korean; Norwegian; Polish; Portuguese (Portugal); Portuguese (Brazil); Russian; Turkish; Romanian; Ukrainian; Spanish; Swedish; Thai. The default, however, remains English (US).
So, a nice update to Yammer and a good win for Office 365. A good day for Microsoft in the ongoing battle, but the war is far from being over.
