Lumia 1520 can apparently support a 128GB microSD card, as one owner finds out

What is the maximum capacity of an SDcard that you can connect to a Windows Phone 8 powered device? The answer is 128GB! A user swapped in a 128GB microSDXC card in his Lumia 1520, and not only did it work, but it was reportedly 20% faster than the 64GB card his phone was carrying before.

SanDisk launched the world’s first 128GB microSDXC card at MWC event last month. Interestingly, the storage card which is priced at $119.99 was announced to support only Android devices.

We aren’t sure about how much memory Windows Phone 8 OS can manage, and whether this memory card will work on other Windows Phone 8 devices as well.

There is another thing that you can’t ignore and it has to do with the screenshot above. The screenshot the user has provided shows that a vast amount of memory in the card is free. Sometimes a higher capacity memory card can be read on non-supportive devices, but as you start filling that card with content, the data may not be read properly. I personally hope that this isn’t the case. Are you excited about this new discovery?
