Visual Studio Team Services

If you’re still using Internet Explorer 9 or 10 for whatever reason, it seems like now is the time you’ll want to move on to greener pastures – at least, if you’re a Visual Studio Team Services user. According to a new blog post from the Team Services team, the next update is going to be discontinuing support for the two outdated Internet Explorer versions. While these two browsers won’t be directly blocked from using Team Services, they’ll be likely to run into serious issues when trying to use the service.

The blog post also tells us that, if you’re using Team Services on-site, the major patch coming after this one will also be cutting support for Internet Explorer 9 and 10 for you. The long and short of it here is that, if you want to be using Team Services in any capacity, you’re going to want to upgrade to either Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge as soon as you can.  While this shouldn’t be such a massive issue for most on account of the long time that IE11 and Microsoft Edge have been out there, it’s still a shame that people are being shoved out of their browser of choice. Let’s hope that these last holdouts enjoy the upgraded version of their browsers.
