Windows 10 build 10074: Windows Defender settings are now easier to access

Microsoft is tinkering around with organizing the new Settings app in Windows 10, as evident in the recent 10074 build which was unofficially but somewhat officially made available via Windows Update earlier today (watch our exclusive hands-on with this build here). As you can see from the image above, Microsoft seems to be tinkering with the idea of relocating the Windows Defender settings to the Update & Security section of the Settings app (known as Update & Recovery in older builds).

Previously, you could access Windows Defender settings via the Systems section of the Settings app. In build 10074, you can access it in both areas, but it clearly looks like the company is experimenting with ideas on better placement. Now when you want to tweak your Windows Defender settings, you can easily head over to the Update & Security section of the Settings app. Perhaps it’s the OCD in me, but this relocation was definitely a good choice. The Settings app is intended to replace the aged Control Panel, and Microsoft is definitely working on making the Settings app as organized as possible to make it easier than ever to adjust your system settings.

What other settings do you think are misplaced in the Settings app? Do you prefer the Settings app or the old fashioned Control Panel? Let us know in the comments below.
