Windows 10

We’re now less than two weeks away from the unveiling of the Windows 10 January Preview, and I won’t lie, I’m pretty excited about it, especially after this last week of news which unveiled a number of upcoming changes which we’ll get to play with soon! First up, images and information of what appears to be the rumored Spartan browser appeared online, revealing exactly what its user interface looks like. The browser, codenamed Spartan, is said to be “lightweight” and based on Microsoft’s Trident rendering engine, rather than WebKit, as well as the company’s Chakra JavaScript engine.

Up next, Gabe Aul on Twitter confirmed that they are indeed considering every piece of feedback they receive, meaning even if your bit of feedback is just nitpicking, they’ll definitely look at ways in which they could improve the operating system.  The most popular ideas are then sent over to Microsoft to be looked at. If the company finds it reasonable, it would consider adding it to the corresponding product.

Furthermore, leaked internal concepts of Windows 10 back last year revealed just what Microsoft wants Windows 10 to look like when it launches to the public this year. Reports claim that there will also be a light version of the theme, for those who dislike the dark mode. This is very similar to that on Windows Phone, which also has dark and light modes.

Last but not least, a new insider app for Windows Phone appeared on the Windows Phone Store, which could mean Windows Insiders will soon have another operating system to play with. The app provides registered Windows Insiders the ability to receive pre-release OS updates on their phone, directly from Microsoft. Right now, normal insiders are unable to sign into the app, as it’s currently only available for internal Microsoft employees.

So there you have it, another week of Windows 10 news done and dusted. Stay tuned at WinBeta for more Windows 10 news, as we’ll definitely be covering it!
