Windows 10 PC Insider preview build 10586 available for Slow Ring members

Looks like Windows 10 PC build 10586 is safe enough for Slow Ring users to download. Moments ago, Gabe Aul of the Windows team sent out a tweet to Insiders letting them know that last week’s Fast Ring release of build 10586 can also be downloaded for Slow Ring users.

Microsoft is scheduled to release its Windows 10 Fall update just a few days from now, and all indications point to build 10586 being the final product casual Windows users will get.
When we reported on build 10586 last week, we found it to be more of bug squash and polish release than some of the feature rich ones Insiders have seen in the past. Some of the items addressed by the build include:

  • We fixed an issue reported by Windows Insiders where a disksnapshot.exe command prompt window would flash randomly.
  • Windows should now remember your previous login type. For example, if you log in with a PIN – it will prompt you for a PIN next time instead of another type.
  • We fixed an issue where Tab previews in Microsoft Edge were appearing as black if the page was not scrolled to the top, and web note clippings were also appearing as black.

Slow Ring users can grab and download the new update today, or wait and have Microsoft push an update to them sometime this week.
