Recent screenshots of the Windows 8 Release Preview leaked onto the web, and revealed some new apps that are expected to make an appearance in the next public release of the operating system. These new apps are Sport, News and Travel apps, allowing you to see the content in Metro. Microsoft loves Metro.

The Windows 8 Release Preview is expected to launch with 3 new apps, that being a Sport, News and Travel metro style app. It is currently unknown whether these apps will ship with the Release to Manufacturing version of Windows 8, since some consumers may not be into Sport or Travel for example.

Other apps in the Release Preview have also been given an update, all Windows LIVE based apps have been given a unique colour, making it easier for users to pinpoint what apps and services they want to use. Microsoft is expected to drop the Windows LIVE brand before Windows 8 RTM is released.

The Release Preview is expected to launch sometime in the first week of June. Microsoft will be holding a keynote at Computex on June 6th this year. We can expect to hear some news on Windows 8 then.
