Windows App Studio gets community-driven API gallery in July 2016 update

The Windows App Studio is an excellent and easy to use tool made to let you create apps without even writing a single line of code. The tool has been updated multiple times and has helped a lot of developers get into the Universal Windows Platform.

Now, the App Studio scored another significant update bringing new APIs to the table. New features include:

  • API Gallery
  • Custom API Sharing
  • Collections limit increase
  • Favourites in pivot apps

The new gallery API is probably the most interesting. It lets you pull data directly from services like Spotify, Twitch, SoundCloud and many more. According to Microsoft, this API is community-driven and will improve over time. These changes will help everyone in getting even more advanced apps onto the store by utilising data from third-party sources.
