The Windows Insider program, Microsoft’s portal to public opinion regarding Windows 10, has been something of a success recently, gaining a great deal of traction. Much of this attention has come following the press conference held at Redmond earlier last week, meant to introduce the world to Microsoft’s vision of the future for its software.

In the last week, over 500,000 people have signed on to use the Windows Insider program, bringing the overall total to 2.2 million. At last week’s Consumer Preview event, Microsoft announced that there were over 1.7 million Insiders, and it’s been soaring ever since. That the program has achieved such large figures bodes well for the overall utility of the software. With more people reporting on issues, there is a greater chance that the official launch will be relatively bug-free.

With so many signing on, it is clear that Microsoft is doing something right in the crafting of its new software. As more and more people involve themselves in the program, there is a greater likelihood that the eventual launch of Windows 10 will be a significant success story.
