Windows Phone 8.1 Lockscreen app 'not too far off', says Joe Belfiore

Everyone is itching to get their hands on this new Lockscreen app for Windows Phone 8.1. It is something different, exciting, and it is coming very soon, according to Microsoft's very own Joe Belfiore.

In a tweet earlier today, Belfiore reminded Windows Phone fans that 'loose ends' were being tied up and the app would soon be available in the Windows Phone Store for eager beavers.

The app gives users the ability to select customizable lockscreens and will require a device with 1GB of RAM, minimum. This is to ensure the Lockscreen app can provide a fluent experience, with no lag or delay when unlocking.

Keep in mind that when the app does become available, it will be in Beta. You can check out the tweet from Belfiore below.

Are you looking forward to the new Lockscreen app or does this feature not interest you?
