Sprint has removed Windows Phone handsets indefinitely from their online store, but the carrier still appears to be committed to Windows Phone. Not too long ago, the carrier started rolling out the Windows Phone 8.1 update for the Samsung Ativ S Neo. Now, reports are pouring in that the carrier is now rolling out the latest Windows Phone 8.1 update for the HTC 8XT.
The update comes a day after HTC confirmed on Twitter that HTC 8XT from Sprint will get all the goodness of Windows Phone 8.1 by the end of this month, and this time, they held on to their word. The update process is gradual so you may have to wait for a few days before it shows up on your device. You can try check for the update manually from Settings, and see if it’s there.
Despite removing Windows Phone handsets from their product line up, the company’s spokesperson said Sprint will offer more Windows Phone handsets in the future, and will offer a variety of operating systems to its customers.
