Windows Phone app developers rejoice! Certification times reduced to at little as one dayWritten by Ron on February 17, 2014 - 10:34AM @ronwinbeta
One of the big drawbacks of the Windows Phone Store was the long certification times. After submitting an app to the Store, app developers had to wait days in order for their app to either pass certification and appear in the Store, or get a notification about failing certification. This will no longer be the case.
"We receive a good deal of feedback from the Windows Phone community and one request remains consistent - reduce the time required to certify my app. Over the last several months we have been redesigning our certification workflow to substantially reduce turn-around time while maintaining app quality," Microsoft stated in an official blog post.
Microsoft has reduced the app certification time to as little as one day, and in some cases, one hour! Not only is there a streamlined certification process, but developers will now receive an email notification letting them know that testing has been completed and App Review results are available on the Dev Center Dashboard. This will now be the new standard and developers will no longer receive a PDF email attachment with the results.
"Please note it will take several more weeks to roll out the changes and get the entire Windows Phone community onto the new workflow. Thank you for your patience while we make the transition," Microsoft adds.
