After seeing a photo of an Xbox One PR person chatting with a PS4 one at a recent promotional event, the official Xbox One Twitter account responded in the only appropriate way, by turning it into a meme.
It’s unclear where the original photo was first taken but it appears to have originally been posted online in a Reddit thread about three months ago where it garnered a fair bit of attention before fading into obscurity. Twitter user, and Head of Social Media for the XCOM videogame franchise, tweeted the image on February 3rd accompanied by, “For never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo” and the official Xbox social media team quickly edited the photo into the following image which you can see above and embedded below.

The official Xbox Twitter account has been creating images like these for the past few months now as part of a new social media marketing strategy and interestingly enough seems to be creating them solely as random personal @ replies to Twitter users who are tweeting about Xbox or Microsoft products. It’s an unusual form of promotion as most of these images won’t be seen by the average Twitter Xbox account followers due to the nature of how replies work on Twitter (only people who follow both accounts can see communications between them in their feeds). The effort put into these images is impressive though even if very few people get to view them. Here are some of the more amusing ones the Xbox team has created.
