Xbox creative director Kudo Tsunoda takes over Windows App Studio

Kip Kniskern

This past March, Microsoft expanded Kudo Tsunoda’s role, bringing him over to Xbox to lead the vision and experience development on a number of Xbox franchises. Tsunoda led the Kinect creative experience and helped ship Kinect, then moved on to work on HoloLens.  He’s continued to work on the holographic experience, but from within Xbox. Now, Tsunoda is moving to a new role, outside of Xbox, as Corporate Vice President of the Windows App Studio, according to an email sent by Phil Spencer inside the organization announcing the change.
Larry Hyrb, Xbox’s Major Nelson, spoke with Tsunoda back in March about his new role at the time:

Tsunoda will focus on applications across multiple Microsoft products, including Edge and HoloLens.  He’ll focus on “improving human interaction methods, like voice and gesture, on Windows-powered devices and applications”, according to Polygon .
Tsunoda’s role at Microsoft Studios will be filled by current general manager of Microsoft Studios Europe Hanno Lemke, and Shannon Loftis, who is currently general manager of Microsoft Studios Publishing.
It will be interesting to see what Tsunoda does across the whole of the Microsoft consumer experience.
